Here Come the Newlyweds
ABC Monday 10/9c

I did not want to like this show...I did not even want to watch it, but there it was. Nothing else on. So I gave it a shot, and was pleasantly surprised!

Not much different from every other reality show. Newlywed couples sequestered in a beautiful house to compete in competitions and survive elimination. Sound familiar?

The funny thing about this is watching the couples. Since they are newlyweds there is plenty of drama and small arguments (that will probably turn into fights as the show moves forward).

Makayla and Kenny McMorris
Audra and Rich Newbery
Andrea and Matt Smith

The first night of competition started with a Q&A ala the old Newlywed Game. The teams were asked questions about the other teams and both answers had to match. The Smith's (the youngest couple) won. They had a choice of taking $10,000 or immunity... they chose the money.

Never take the money.

The decision (and youth/strength) of the Smith team was enough to get them eliminated from the show.

I don't know if the show will survive or return for a 3rd season (I had never heard of the 1st season), but it's not a horrific way to spend an hour. The drama that is promised may be a turn off to some.

Young couples could learn (and laugh) at the fighting between the newlywed couples. Most of the arguments start so small it is amazing how out of proportion they quickly grow.
