Survivor Nicaragua: Jimmy T. Is a Legend in His Own Mind

After voting Jimmy Johnson off Survivor Nicaragua last week, the Espada (older) tribe had to try and regroup. Jimmy T. offered to step up as a leader... again, and again. The team was not biting though, he came off more as the annoying little fly you can’t get out of your face. After a dismal showing in the Immunity/Reward Challenge, the tribe spoke. Jimmy T. was sent home to become his own fan club.

Here is how the night went on Survivor Nicaragua.

The show started with a recap of NaOnka wrestling Kelly B. for the clue to the hidden Immunity Idol. She then needed the help of Brenda to actually find the Idol. When they found it together, NaOnka took full possession. Brenda later told Chase that NaOnka had the Idol.

The older tribe walked around aimlessly for most of the day without their leader. No one really wanted to step up. Marty was pleased by how things were working out, pretty much like he planned.

The Reward/Immunity Challenge combo was a blindfolded search and retrieve mission. One person from each tribe would shout directions, while teams of two for each tribe sought out the necessary items and brought them back. The prizes: pick three luxury items from Sears (fishing gear, tarp, etc), and of course, full tribe immunity.

The younger tribe opted to use their Medallion of Power to get a lead of two items before the challenge started. It was more than enough to earn them the win.

The older tribe had Tyrone calling directions. We continually saw Jimmy T. and his companion walking around aimlessly as Tyrone screamed instructions to him. It was like talking to a wall. Dan chose to sit out since the area was muddy and he has bad knees.

Jimmy T. continued to spout off at his leadership abilities after the competition. The problem was, he could not offer up any suggestions for what he would have done differently.

At tribal council, Jeff Probst asked Jimmy T. if he could be a follower since the team obviously needed him in that role. He choked up... actually almost cried and said he could try being a follower. Things did not look good at that point.

Dan was pointed out as the weakest by Probst, having sat out of the competition due to his knees. Dan stood up for himself saying he did not want to hinder the team during competitions. Even this admission of weakness did not cut Jimmy T. a break from votes.

When the votes were read, there was nearly a tie. By a vote of 3-5, Jimmy T. was voted out of Espada and Survivor Nicaragua.

The fighting on the younger tribe between NaOnka and Kelly B. did worsen tonight. As Kelly B. went off to look for the hidden Immunity Idol, NaOnka trailed (after she had it safely in custody). NaOnka verbally attacked Kelly B. and said she would shove her down again if she needed to. Wow, remember NaOnka is a teacher (PE), and works with school kids. At least the bullies have a mentor.

Next week should be one of the best on Survivor Nicaragua. Looks like an early merge! I think this makes the decision to vote off Jimmy T. this week that much better. No doubt he would have jumped ship to the younger kids in a heartbeat. Marty won’t be happy, he does have his own hidden Immunity Idol though. We also see NaOnka looking quite miserable and saying she can’t take it anymore. We can only hope!

Do you think the Espada tribe should have voted off Dan instead? Are you happy there is a merge coming so soon? Leave me a comment!
