The Biggest Loser 10 Week 3: Tina Gets Her Wish (to Go Home)

The Biggest Loser Workout: Cardio MaxTina was at the heart of house drama right from the start of The Biggest Loser tonight. After escaping elimination last week against Allie, Tina now felt like she had done the wrong thing in asking to stay. Her plan was to tell the producers she wanted to leave. The rest of The Biggest Loser 10 contestants were not happy, and told Tina she was being selfish.

Lisa then stepped up and said she was ready to leave to take care of Allie, her former roommate. Either both ladies forgot they are the ones there for help, or they suddenly became very afraid of The Biggest Loser weigh-ins.

Bob Harper came in to have a pep talk with the contestants. He spoke a few more times with Tina alone to get her in the right frame of mind. It appeared to work, until the surprise weigh-in.
Bob, alone with the contestants in the gym for the first workout, got tough tonight. He had them do circuit training... if you’ve never done it, it’s brutal. Spending time on every apparatus in the gym without a break. Good thing since the second weigh-in at The Biggest Loser ranch is notoriously the worst.

Next was a tennis workout from pro Anna Kournakova. The men were in awe of her beauty. After the tennis workout came an immunity challenge. While not a rugged challenge, it appeared to be a hot one. The men ganged up on the women, again. In the end it came down to Brendan, Frado and Patrick (who later formed an alliance). Frado won the competition and immunity at the weigh-in.

Here are the weigh-in results:

Name        Starting Weight    Ending Weight    Total Weight Loss
*Frado                340                  337                        -3
Burgandy            219                   218                        -1
Tina                   247                   243                        -4
Sophia                258                   252                        -6
Ada                    240                   234                        -6
Lisa                    272                   267                        -5
Aaron                 438                   431                        -7
Adam                 368                   356                       -12
Elizabeth            232                   229                        -3
Rick                   314                   306                        -8
Mark                  380                   369                        -11
Jessica               268                   261                         -7
Jesse                 339                   239                        -10
Patrick               378                   366                         -12
Brendan             331                   326                          -5

Frado said he planned to work out like he had no immunity. That didn't seem to work for him. Later after the weigh-in, Frado said it was his duty to take advantage of having immunity. Wow, better not let Bob and Jillian here you say that!

As the winner of the weigh-in, Adam got to save one person from the elimination challenge. The seven that fell below the yellow line were: Burgandy, Elizabeth, Aaron, Tina, Lisa, Sophia and Brendan. Adam said there were no politics involved, yet he chose to save Aaron.

The rest had to compete to find rings in huge sand piles. The two that did not find a ring would be up for elimination. Ironically, the two women that wanted to go home in the beginning, Lisa and Tina, did not find a ring.

Lisa made an emotional plea to the group of voters. She said she finally “got it”, and it appeared she did. Tina, on the other hand, did not make an impassioned plea. She told the group to do what they wanted. So they did.

Getting five votes in a row, Tina was the second contestant to leave The Biggest Loser ranch. In her update piece, I was surprised and happy to see that Tina did continue her weight loss journey and is paying it forward to her daughter and family. Tina has lost another 58lbs at home, bringing her new weight down to 205. Her daughter has lost 85lbs so far, training with her mom.

Lots of drama this season on The Biggest Loser. I guess it makes sense since there are no real teams this time. The last few seasons have involved a family member or friend. Do you think the right person went home this week on The Biggest Loser? Any thoughts on who might win this season of TBL?
