It was another night of twists for the contestants of the Biggest Loser 10. Tonight only one person’s weight loss on each team would matter. Teams would choose who they wanted to weigh in from the opposite team. No reason for it, just a new shake up for the ranch.
Elizabeth was the obvious target of the Blue team. She has consistently pulled in low number. Jillian was way ahead of them. She focused most of the gym time and nearly all of the final workout on Elizabeth.
Bob spread the workout around, like it was any other week. All players would benefit, but that doesn’t always mean a win on the Biggest Loser.
The first challenge saw the return of Chef Curtis Stone and Lorena Garcia. Three members from each team were chosen to cook, three players were chosen to taste. The cooks got to work with the chefs (who had to keep their hands off) on three dishes (salad, entree, dessert). The tasters would do a blind test and rate the dishes on flavor. The winning team would get a “10 second advantage” in the final challenge.
During the challenge Curtis Stone was overheard saying over and over “...never before have I wanted to touch food so much!” ...and never before have I wanted to BE food so much!
Hopefully I’ll have all of the recipes for you as soon as they are posted (or at least a link to them), so come back and check!
The Blue team won the challenge after a tie breaker (where Frado freaked out). It was a simple guess at the number of calories in the dessert plates made by their teammates. Frado said he knows the other guys are stupid, and walked off. He did a lot of that tonight.
The second challenge was a Dragon boat race. The Blue team had a ten second advantage to start the race. It was not pretty. Kids on bikes were riding right past the teams in the water. The Black team nearly showed us the full monty. Finally it was over, and the Blue team came away with their second win of the night. The now had the power to block the first choice the Black team made at the weigh-in to compete against.
I was already dreading what was bound to happen at the weigh-in. The Blue team just looked too much in control.
At the weigh-in the Blue team did choose Elizabeth, just as Jillian suspected. The Black team chose Jessica to go against her, the Blue team did not use their block. Adam also chose to keep his weight loss medallion, now worth 3lbs, for next week. All had to weigh-in, but only Jessica and Elizabeth’s weights would count toward which team would go to elimination.
Black Team
Anna 286lbs 283lbs 3lbs
Ada 215lbs 211lbs -4lbs
Brendan 313lbs 302lbs -11lbs
Patrick 346lbs 337lbs -9lbs
Frado 308lbs 294lbs -14lbs
Elizabeth 218lbs 213lbs -5lbs
Blue Team
Jesse 305lbs 296lbs -9lbs
Mark 352lbs 336lbs -16lbs
Adam 335lbs 322lbs -12lbs
Lisa 252lbs 244lbs -8lbs
Aaron 407lbs 398lbs -9lbs
Jessica 248lbs 244lbs -4lbs (had to lose more than 5lbs)
Yes, I saw this coming from a mile away, the next part was a bit of a surprise to me though. When the Blue team went to eliminate someone (anyone buy Mark who earned immunity with that major 16lb loss this week), they were divided. It came down to a tie between Adam and Jessica. The Black team was called in to choose any person (but Mark) to eliminate. The went for the jugular, of course and cut Adam quickly from the Biggest Loser 10.
He should have used the 3lb advantage, but he didn’t. Adam was still the most strong person on the Blue team so it was fair that he go home. In the update, he’s doing fantastic at home. Adam’s starting weight was 402lbs. He left the ranch weighing 322lbs, and he’s now down to 264lbs. I think Adam will be a front runner for the at-home competition this season on Biggest Loser. Nice job!
