Though I think Donald Trump was going to pick Brandy and Clint anyway, the ladies could not stop the snarkiness of the season to back each other. Trump asked each person who they thought was the better candidate and both chose Clint. Hard to argue with that.
The tasks:
Gala dinner for 500 followed by a Liza Minnelli concert
Golf Tournament for 500 hosted by Kathy Griffin prior to the dinner
The teams (presplit by Trump)
Liza, Anand and Stephanie
Steuart, Mahsa and Poppy
Yes, that’s Anand's name on that list. What’s up with that? How is that teaching him any kind of lesson? Wow, Donald Trump just lost a few cool points.
Brandy opt to choose her team first, and picked Liza, Anand and Stephanie. Clint got to pick tasks and surprised everyone by choosing the dinner and concert. Brandy and her team would do the golf tournament at Trump International.
Clint and his team of Steuart, Mahsa and Poppy set out to prepare for Liza Minnelli. The biggest part of their task seemed to be prepping Ms. Minnelli’s room, with a warning from her assistant that if every single thing on her rider were not in place, she would notice. It was a very long and detailed rider.
Liza showed off her golf skills when Trump introduced the tasks. It was obvious that she knew the most about the game, and Brandy admitted to knowing nearly nothing about it. Even Anand had to step aside to Liza’s skills when she grabbed a club and took a great swing. Brandy was more than a little bummed at having to go to Liza for anything. Stephanie was just plain green with envy at the attention Liza got from Trump.
Clint seemed to be moving at full speed with his team on a clear path to victory.. when the caterer canceled. At the last minute, Clint and Steuart worked to find a new caterer for the event and finally succeeded. Mahsa was out buying items for the rider with Poppy (and feeling left out, again).
Brandy’s team seemed to be floating along without a plan at all. They had ideas, but nothing tangible. Donald Trump Jr. checked up on them and quipped, “Anand’s going to be there monitoring the cheaters, right?”
Poppy and Stephanie thought they should give out gift cards as prizes for the golf tournament. Um, seriously? I don’t see a high roller whipping out a gift card anytime to pay for anything. So the question became: What do you get millionaires for prizes in a charity golf tournament? Liza chose full sets of golf clubs.. and a few small gift cards. I think she got it half right.
Back at team Clint, there were issues with how to seat guests and where to put the food. There were to be four large buffets. Clint wanted the food in a separate room from the diners and concert. Steuart said there was plenty of room in the main ballroom for the food and diners. “Who am I to argue with the expert in catering?” asked a slightly frazzled Clint.
When Liza and Anand got back to team Brandy headquarters and told of their new ideas for prizes they faced the wrath of Brandy and Stephanie. How dare they make a decision! Actually, how dare Liza! It got funny when Brandy called Mr. Trump to see who he wanted as his golf foursome... and Trump asked for Liza to golf with his group! Brandy and Stephanie could hardly speak they were so jealous, or at least it appeared that way. Then they told Liza and said it like it was going to totally screw them “but you go on and have fun with Mr. Trump” was the attitude.
The next snag to hit team Clint was more like a harsh slap in the face. The promo artwork arrived, with a spelling error. Luckily Mahsa knows how to spell Liza Minnelli (2 n’s, 2 l’s) because she caught the spelling error “Liza Minelli” (single n). Uh-oh. Then Poppy noticed that it was not just the main artwork, but all the placecards too (of course). At least Clint was consistent with the mispelling! Mahsa blamed Clint, so I’m going by her word (we know that solid, right?)
I’m really hoping Clint wins The Apprentice, but I know he will be just fine and come out of this show with a great job. What I fear will happen? Liza’s prize idea wins the day and Brandy wins without Liza even working the event (all due to Liza’s idea). I think that would be more dramatic for a season finale. The women have been so brutal this season, and particularly to Liza. I think Trump is making a tiny statement to some of the bullies.
I think Anand (the cheater), should be out of show completely. What’s up with giving the big speech about Anand being part of the problem in the financial world today, then giving him no punishment. That kind of makes Donald Trump part of the problem.
Anyway, next week will be the end of The Apprentice recession season. Who do you hope wins?

cmon now no need to be so bitter about my comeback. Trump brought me back b/c I was a superstar for several weeks prior to my firing. You know that, and the whole world knows that.

ReplyDeleteI'm not bitter about your return, I just don't think it should have happened. Once you are fired for cheating, you should not be re-hired for another task. Just my opinion, but I think THAT'S part of the problem Donald Trump was talking about. Now he too has become part of the problem (giving a break to those that don't deserve/haven't earned one). Just my opinion.
