The red and black teams were finally merged into one blue team this week on BL11. Trainers Bob and Jillian finally got a room full of men to push around the gym. Bob was particularly excited about working out Rulon, the former Olympian. I think he just wanted to see what the big man had in him. Surprisingly, even after a terribly tough workout, Rulon did not pull a big number this week.
The new blue team had the opportunity to earn immunity for the entire team by losing more than the 64lbs they lost as a group last week. It's always difficult to bring numbers up this late in the season, but with so many big men left it seemed doable.
Rewarded with a five pound advantage after barely winning a tough reward challenge, the team headed to the final weigh-in in good spirits. They only needed an average of about five pounds a piece with the bonus.
It was not to be though, as many of the men did not pull big numbers this week. Only a couple went a couple of pounds over that number and it was not enough to carry the smallest women on the team.
Marci, mother and leader to all on BL11, was told by the doctor that she had basically reached her goal of health. Now it's about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Knowing that, and after losing five pounds last week, it was nearly a given she could not do it again this week. At the weigh-in she maintained her weight from last week and lost zero pounds.
Kaylee was the final contestant to weigh in and did even worse with a gain of two pounds. Jillian Michaels pointed out that she just hasn't "equalized" yet. Kaylee is still in the up and down stage and needs to stay at the ranch and figure it out. Marci, as expected, fell on her sword and asked that all vote for her to leave the Biggest Loser ranch this week so Kaylee could figure out a better strategy. Marci has all the class in the world.
Though Courtney could not write down her mom's name, rightfully so, the rest understood what needed to happen. Marci mouthed "Thank you" to each person who wrote down her name. It was her time and she totally understood and expected it. I think Allison Sweeney even wanted to cry as Marci left the Biggest Loser ranch.
We got a glimpse of some major drama developing for next week's episode of Biggest Loser Couples. Allison Sweeney is heard saying, "...this is not a prison, you're free to go at any time." Someone may be disqualified or just choose to leave early. We'll find out next week on NBC at 8/7c, join me there!
