Week 1 - Phillip Chbeeb - So You Think You Can Dance
The show started with what looked like it would be a flubbed audition. Nigel Lythgoe yelled, "Cue the music", the music came on, the dancer stood there. A full 20-30 seconds went by before Nigel lifted his hand to stop the music saying, "I'd like to see a bit more dancing!"
After the music mix up, Devon Achiro proceeded to wow the judges with a great lyrical dance solo. Earning Devon the first ticket to Hollywood on SYTYCD.

Speaking of the judges, they are:
Nigel Lythgoe - The only things Nigel and Simon Cowell have in common are American Idol and an English accent. While honest with every single contestant, Lythgow takes the time to explain himself, even to the attention-seekers that won't listen. He gives great incites on each individual performance shown.
Mary Murphy - The screamer. Though not a Paula Abdul, by any means (there are none in this show, sorry). Murphy is a strict ballroom dance judge and will call a contestant for the tiniest posture infraction, as she should.
The Choreographer/Judges are:
Mia Michaels - Emmy Award winning Michaels is sure to make you cry with her during at least one performance this season. In addition to being a world reknowned choreographer (for such acts as Celine Dion, Madonna, Prince, etc.) Michaels also founded RAW a critically acclaimed New York dance company.
Tabitha and Napoleon D'Umo - husband and wife team.
Jean Marc Genereaux - World Champion Couples Dancer
Tyce Diorio - Tyce has been with SYTYCD since the beginning.
Mandy Moore - I don't know, must have needed a celebrity.
Mary screamed her way through the first show, and the usual suspects showed up including:
David "Sex" Soller- this guy has come back year after year, there is obviously something wrong with him and Nigel Lythgow has no mercy on him.
