Celebrity Apprentice: NeNe Takes Down Dionne Warwick

Count me as the newest member of the NeNe Leakes fan club. At least for this week. Though Dionne Warwick called her a "coward" tonight, it was Dionne that was fired in the boardroom on Celebrity Apprentice. Ms. Warwick has made her last girl cry in prime time. Buh-bye!

The teams were tasked with creating a 30 second video of the new AGC video phone. NeNe Leakes and Lil Jon were the Project Managers. The winner gets $40,000 for their charity.

After meeting with the company heads, team ASAP decided to go with the heart warming story of a mom and dad talking with their daughter who is living in France. Marlee Matlin stepped in to show that now she could talk to her daughter on the video phone through sign language.

All seemed okay, Miss Star was positioning herself. Miss Dionne was diva-ing. When there was nothing left to do but editing, all the ladies stayed to help. Dionne asked NeNe (in that 'here's what I'm going to do' kind of way) if she minded if Dionne left. NeNe just looked at her and said 'no' (in that 'whatever!' kind of way).

The men had the same meeting with the company reps and decided to completely ignore the message they wanted. Instead, the guys of team Backbone opted to go more modern and hope for a viral video. The acting was so bad that won't happen, but it was a decent attempt.

The guys' video consisted of grandma and grandpa (Gary Busey) getting the video phone for Christmas. When they call their grandson he wants them to meet his fiancee.... a dude (Jose Canseco completely glammed up). It was so extreme that it did not play as offensive.

The men definitely had a hard time harnessing the energy on their commercial set. Gary Busey had a hard time harnessing himself. At one point we got a full frontal shot as "Grandpa" flung himself down next to "Grandma" on the couch with his robe wide open. Gary Busey has apparently lovingly named himself "Big Wednesday." When he noticed the breeze under his robe and hurried to cover he asked the female actor, "Did you see Big Wednesday? ...that's what I call my [package]." And now I officially know way to much about Gary Busey.

Star Jones gave a professional presentation, but it would have gone over better at a lawyer convention. While she's very easy to listen to, she's very boring for vote getting.

Lil Jon came out like he was ready to introduce ...um, another rapper. He got the crowd going and enticed them by telling them they wanted the video to go viral. The young crowd was ready to watch and responded loudly. I knew the guys won.

It was close, but they guys did win the task. Again. Three weeks in a row now the ladies have lost the task. Amazingly, or maybe not so much, with each eviction they get better. They need another fund raising task so Miss Star can pull out that rolodex again. The men are creative, but I bet they're all broke. Maybe not Lil Jon.

NeNe Leakes seemed to know the men were going to win. Though it was close, one of the ladies was going home and out came the nails.

Marlee and Star were pointing at LaToya this week since she had eye surgery (imagine that) just a few weeks before and she woke up and could hardly see that morning... blah blah. So NeNe only gave LaToya time keeping for a job. She did do that and she fought back in the boardroom when she had to. LaToya answered every one of Trump's questions coherently and respectfully.

NeNe said she would fire Dionne for leaving the rest of the team. Dionne said she asked (but we all know you weren't asking). For some reason Hope said she too would fire Dionne (I think she just didn't want Miss Dionne there if she became PM).

Dionne Warwick got an attitude (imagine that). When asked who he should fire Miss Dionne replied, "I'll go with the team and say me. Fire me!" Then she gave Donald Trump a defiant little glare. Like she was daring him to fire her.

Star Jones finally had to speak up. She said she would never quit on her charity. Trump hates quitters. That's two strikes Miss Dionne...

Warwick tried to back pedal and get nice to Donald Trump, and act like an adult. Trump let her get herself together and then said it was too late. "Dionne, you're fired." The words I've been waiting for! Thanks Donald!

It was not over there though. Dionne Warwick went after NeNe outside the boardroom when NeNe approached her to say good-bye. "You're a COWARD!" said Dionne. "Why am I a coward?!" asked NeNe, genuinely surprised. "Because you didn't tell the truth!" answered Dionne. Um, yeah, that would make her a liar. Oh well, glad Dionne is finally gone from my weekly TV show, now off to break that record of "Do You Know the Way to San Jose."

What did you think of the Celebrity Apprentice tonight? Would you have fired Dionne Warwick, or would you have fired LaToya Jackson?

  3. P.S. Dionne did NOT ask to leave, (at least not on the TV edited version) she walked up to Nene and said "well Good Night" and Nene Said "Oh ok so you're leaving" hugged Dionne & went back to work. Dionne NEVER ASKED anything, she just told her, she was leaving. I rewinded it 3 times to see was said, because Dionne went on and on about how she ASKED & how Nene should have just said no, you can't leave. Then went on to call Nene a COWARD!!! She is NUTZ!!!!!!

ANd YES she should have been fired a week ago!!! AMEN to that!!! LOL

  4. She was lost in Dionneworld, there she was goddess-emperor of the universe, she informed her team of what she was doing never asked, never waited for input, and was shocked when occasionally someone dared to disagree, to contradict her royal pain in the ....
The only one who bothers me more is noisy-nelly Gary. That the Trump has a little crush on the loop-de-loop boy only grates with every comment. They are lucky the actress did not scream hostile workplace when the fool let his 'big wednesday' waggle in the wind and instead of a simple "Sorry" as he hurriedly covered up he made the idiot comment about his name for his gear. why did the boy not have briefs on, especially after the early comment about male frontal nudity (when comp rep saw gary in robe) and richard Hatch is sewage waste, worse he knows it and takes pride in his jerkiness, even talks of then as positives.
But thats for a future day, or two, when the boys finally lose...
For today thank you Dionne is finally gone (and with the deadwood being snipped the girls *are* getting better; LaToya could also go imho but she has come through (memorizing masses of camper details so she sounded like she'd done it a long time) but she does nothing, has excuses for why she can't do much of the tasks then when her lack is mentioned in the boardroom she flips that annoying bang strand back and says no one assigned her more. SHE didn't put drops in her eye (and I suspect not for the first time. if I woke up with burry eyes unable to see detail so recently after surgery I'd be at the ER and screw some TV show).
LOL I have been rewatching the recording of the show with a friend and just watched Dionne tell the Trump how she'd have to go with the group then and fire her, then bounce back on her chair cushion with that look on her face and EVERYONE knew she had put her foot in the manure, you don't *dare* the Big Boss to fire you and her ending speech even while the words were one thing while underneath was this arrogance flowed, and she accused NeNe of being a coward(liar) while herself lying about how she was fine with NeNe and Hope (only after the Trump sat her on her heels with her first 'the whole team' remark; more telling HE had to tell her none of the girls jumped up outraged she thought they wanted her out)but no sooner did she exit the room, in the Trump's hearing she ripped at NeNe for being a coward (for what exactly? her following reason when finally given had nothing to do with bravery or the lack of it) You can hear in NeNe's voice her total bafflement at the comment. and her final comment of not liking the craziness unless it was hers says it all. Classy and talented as she once was I think she is moving into the crazy stage of her life. She is welcome to it, just not on the shows I am watching please!

  5. Has she always been that way? Could you imagine dealing with that woman? Dionne is so horrible, childish and poisionus! I felt so bad for Nene. I wished that Trump could rewind to the point where Dion was supposed to have asked and shown her that she in fact was the coward or liar.

  6. Good riddance.... I wanted her gone a long time ago. Incredibly rude, lazy -zero team spirit and completely incapable of respecting others. On top of that, the way she treated Marlee was killing me. She couldn't even look at her while talking to her. Talk about entitlement issues, and many other issues she has. Nothing nice about her whatsoever, I mean if she at least was good at doing her assignments, but she wasn't even that. Huge disappointment to see such a legend act like a spoilt 14 year old.

  7. Well I'm gonna miss Dionne's stank diva attitude...lol I will say Dionne's attitude was nasty, but I will miss her being a diva on the show...lol

  8. Dionne should not have stooped so low as to come to this show. Nene has no loyalty to anyone. they are all selfish i guess. I respect Dionne because she is the only one who defended nene and then nene turned around and stabbed her in the back, thats the real world we live in. Nene is a selfish B. I'll be watching because i think Star jones got her back, gave her a little bit of her medicine back and thats why she's on a "I hate star" rampage.

  9. I wished Dionne was fired the week Lisa was PM. The way she sashayed out of the boardroom after Lisa was fired made me want to reach thru the tv and choke her. I will never buy any of her music, past or future!!!!

  10. Not me; I am so glad to see her gone!!! And I also loved her, loved her music, all that. But now, after seeing her spoiled display and lack of concern for anyone else, I feel so differently. I must say, I'm glad she was selected to be on the Celebrity Apprentice, otherwise, we would never have known the type of person she really is ... So long, Ms. Dionne, good luck, and good riddance!!

  11. I am no longer a fan of Dionne. Over and out.

  12. Wow this show is designed for morons who love drama. Dionne is over 70 years old if she was tired and felt that she needed to turn in that means she's not a team player. Really? Check this, Nene didn't feel the need to object to Dionne when it would have made a difference, but ratted her out to JR and then used her for a scapegoat at the Board meeting. Of course Trump would fire Dionne - Ratings. Any body who claims they are no longer a fan of Dionne behind this show clearly never was. What the hell does this show have to do with her music. Seriously, you don't know her personally and the show is not a true depiction of who she is. It is edited sensational drama. I doubt Dionne is losing any sleep behind being fired. Nene on the other hand might need to be raising money for Charity Lekes Home. Dionne is a strong woman who carried herself in a very respectful way especially under these ridiculous circumstances. I'm glad she's off the show because for our entertainment it pits people we otherwise would respect for their positive contributions against one another necessarily pushing them to limits where they show they are a basic human. Then we turn around and call them rude, bitches and hussy. Dionne was a good sport but should never had got involved with this dog fight.

  13. Gary should have been wearing a FreeBeneath robe for the sake of the audience -- no chance of exposing himself.
