Last Comic Standing: The Top 10 Perform for America's Votes

The comedians seemed to be nervous tonight, Last Comic Standing did not get started on a stellar note. There was far more good than bad though and that's always a plus (especially in comedy). One of the best parts of the night was finding out there would be no judge comments, or judges for that matter. YES! Now the comics of Last Comic Standing are competing solely for your votes. Winner gets $250,000.

Craig Robinson seemed to be channeling Oprah Winfrey tonight as he sang out the names of each comic in the top ten. The audience seemed extremely coached during the first set too.

Laurie Kilmartin was up first. She had a rather over zealous audience to deal with that seemed to through her timing off. Kilmartin only gets an "Okay" from me for tonight's set.

Filipe Esparza is a funny guy. The problem is he is a little hard to understand and there is not much time on LCS. A hurried Esparza is even harder to understand. I still think he had a funny set tonight.

Roy Wood Jr. brought the theater alive with his rapid fire style of funny. Roy has been around for a while so the pressure was on him to show up. He did, and then some. My favorite line of the night came from Roy Wood Jr., "...we need failures in America. Chicken nuggets and lap dances are important services. We can't all be rich and famous."

Maronzio Vance had a good set tonight. I liked his version of a superhero "Pay Attentionman" and his sidekick "Didn't he tell ya?" I think Moronzio Vance will be safe next week.

Rachel Feinstein is the comic I was waiting for, hoping to see what the judges saw in her. I still don't. Neither do most of the Twitter LCS watchers. Tonight she told us all about her gansta mom. She was only OK.

Tommy Johnagin is hilarious. This guy deserves to be in the final two right now. He cracked me up before even taking the LCS stage by saying, "It's either this or Deal or No Deal." Tonight Johnagin told of a really bad strip club he visited, so bad he nearly called the BBB on the place. When the stripper asked what she should take off next, he said, "My glasses?!"

Jonathan Thymius was one of my favorites from the start. Was I said. Tonight he did not fare well on Last Comic Standing. Have no material in the auditions was endearing, but I'm not going to pay to see it. Sorry.

James Adomian has been another favorite of mine. He had a miss tonight too. An angry impression of John Adams (yes, the long dead POTUS) will not win this comedy show (I hope!).

Mike Destefano had a great set tonight, really hilarious. I was happy for him since his last audition did not go as well. Stefano said tonight, "... I want to be reincarnated as a black guy... not next time, I wanna be white one more time, then be a black guy." He's just funny.

Myq Kaplan closed the first night of voting on Last Comic Standing with a bang. Well, with as much of a bang as a vegan can muster. My favorite joke from Myq Kaplan: "Did you know that you can make up to $60 an hour as a street musician... or you can make up to $60 a minute robbing a street musician!"

That's it for the opening night of Last Comic Standing finals. Now it's in America's hand for the voting. The three comedians with the lowest votes will go home next Monday before the final seven perform.

My guess at who should go home (based on tonight alone): Rachel Feinstein, Laurie Kilmartin and Filipe Esparza. Two of the three are a toss up, but hopefully Rachel will go for sure.

Now go vote!
