Celebrity Apprentice: NeNe, Leakes Quits and LaToya Jackson Gets Fired

Part 1 of 2 in the Celebrity Apprentice Epic Three Hour Event

It was a three hour  Celebrity Apprentice marathon tonight that saw two celebrities take the elevator of shame and one went MIA before quitting the show. We were all set up for NeNe Leakes vs. Star Jones round two, but it was not in the cards. Trump split up the women at the start of the show, trading Meatloaf on team Backbone for NeNe on ASAP.

NeNe was extremely displeased at Star “getting her way” and voiced her opinion in an educated and professional manner. Not!

Instead NeNe went missing after the task was assigned and refused to answer her phone calls from teammates. Eventually Donald Trump called NeNe and we were allowed to hear the audio. She quit because she did not feel it was fair that Trump sided with Star and moved NeNe to a new team. NeNe sent a text to her new team stating she could not deal with the negativity anymore. B-O-O H-O-O.

The first task tonight was a fundraiser with all the proceeds going to the winning PM’s charity. LaToya Jackson and Meatloaf were the chosen PM's. Both would host a comedy show and sell tickets for outrageous donation amounts. Get out that Rolodex!

The teams were now:
Team Backbone
LaToya Jackson
John Rich
Lil Jon

Team ASAP
Star Jones
Marlee Matlin
Meatloaf

Each team chose three comedians for their show (I think I saw all of them on Last Comic Standing, very funny people), and both teams attempted to line up a headliner. Team Backbone got Jimmy Fallon to come to the show and perform. Team ASAP got a video interview with Tracy Morgan, not even close to the same.

Meatloaf had a major meltdown before the comedy show when he realized that all of the money raised from both teams would go to the winning PM. He had hit up all of his contacts who were directly involved in his charity, The Painted Turtle. Meatloaf felt terrible realizing that if he lost the task he was essentially taking money aimed at his charity already and giving it to another. He equated it to a father betting the rent and food money at the race track. He was very emotional and obviously more than a little scared.

Star Jones even called Trump to ask him if each team could keep their own funds no matter the outcome of the task. Trump told them that while the show is all about charity, it’s also about winning. He told Meatloaf to buckle down and do his best to win.

Team Backbone looked to be flying high… except LaToya was not pushy enough on the phone with her big contacts. Go figure.
Then came Jimmy Fallon, a good friend of John Rich, who wrote a song for his time on stage. “Yer Fired!” is sure to be a hit on iTunes. Such a funny little song! He even managed to rhyme “Omarosa,” very impressive. The hook?

“Yer fired! Yer fired! Take that rolling suitcase out the door! Yer fired! Yer fired! You son of a bitch yer fired…and don’t you mess around with Team Backbone!”

In the boardroom Trump wasted no time giving NeNe Leakes, not present, a piece of his mind. “She left. She quit, she gave up. To you NeNe, I say, you’re fired, and you’re a quitter, and Star Jones kicked your ass whether you like it or not!”

Tell us how you really feel Donald.

That out of the way, Trump asked Meatloaf if he had recovered from his breakdown over the charity money. This started the waterworks again. Trump admired Meatloaf’s passion for his charity and told the other team about the phone call. John Rich stepped up from the other team and said he would personally write The Painted Turtle a check for the amount Team ASAP had raised if he did not win the task so Meatloaf was not “gambling” the money. John Rich is a big man, period.

When the numbers were crunched it came down to:
Team Backbone: $82,500
Team ASAP: $102,080

Meatloaf won the grocery money! Actually he did not choose to reciprocate John Rich’s offer to him to LaToya, so Painted Turtle gets a total of $184,580 for a donation.

The boardroom for round one was pretty clear cut. LaToya refused to throw either of the guys under the bus, rightfully so. Both men had raised more than LaToya in funds and John Rich brought in the big name act. Trump told LaToya she was great and was now the first person to be re-hired and fired again from Celebrity Apprentice. LaToya Jackson stayed classy to the end, again.
