Tonight the task for The Apprentice candidates was to sell a Broadway musical. More specifically, produce and create a 15 minute backer audition for three judges. Seemed to smoothly for both teams, but the boardroom was ugly as ever. Mahsa and Stephanie both tread on thin ice with Donald Trump. In the end, the men came back in to ensure the demise of Mahsa. It was for the best.
After the teams were told what the task was, Steuart stepped up as Project Manager (PM) for Octane. The women hemmed and hawed until Liza finally offered herself up. You could actually hear some saying, “finally!”
Team Fortitude (ladies) were given a show called Darling. It’s an adaptation of Peter Pan, but not your average interpretation according to the writer. The show features some really cool songs with high energy. Now that most of the quiet ones have been fired, the loud ladies are starting to scrap.
Stephanie again attempted to take charge, not that Liza wasn’t happy to hand over the reigns. Mahsa was still trying to make the task about her, though she seemed slightly quieter during the prep work. When things started to get tense, Liza sent Stephanie (who has studied music all of her life at royal conservatories and is God’s gift to music according to herself) and Mahsa out to do the promo print work. They were not happy, Stephanie was livid.
Team Octane (men) were given Little Miss Fix-It. The music was much lower key in this show, not sure I would enjoy this tale of young love. The plan seemed obvious from the start, ignore David and things should go fine. Steuart tasked David with getting food for the team. He pouted for a short while. Then David put his big boy pants on and started to actually work. He produced and chose the music score for the entire presentation. Every man on team Octane gave Dave credit for making a comeback this week. Even Clint. These are smart men.
The judges for the presentations were Kristen Chenoweth, Darryl Roth and John Yonover. They seemed to also really enjoy the music for team Fortitude’s show. When they looked at the promo work though, they were visibly disappointed by the lack of information in the ladies’ brochures. There was no contact information at all, the worst mistake ever in a fundraising task.
In the end, the judges chose team Octane for the win. The men took home the prize (of not facing Donald Trump) again this week.
We didn’t get far into the final boardroom tonight, the claws came out and the voices went shrill as soon as the men made their exit.
Stephanie immediately came after Liza for putting her on PR instead of music. Donald Trump said he was a little surprised she didn’t step up when he announced a musical task. Stephanie said she didn’t know it was a musical task until Liza took PM. Trump quickly corrected her (and it was obvious she was just throwing Liza under the bus) ... “..I can’t be PM every week, I was just that like a week ago,” stumble Stephanie. “I would have respected you more if you’d said that. Don’t lie to me!” retorted Donald Trump.
Mahsa jumped in the mix. Why not, it was pile on Liza time (same thing every week from Mahsa). Poppy came to life and it was revealed why she had earlier told Mahsa to *stfu* (it was edited so it was hard to put a time stamp on it).
Apparently Mahsa told Clint how much the ladies made in last week’s task prior to the boardroom. She then told Mr. Trump tonight that Clint told her how much the men made first, and that’s why she told him. Remember, the men were watching all of this still from the suite. Clint was quickly becoming irate.
Donald Trump continued to question Mahsa on her loyalty to her team. Why would you tell the other team how much your team made before the boardroom? Mahsa said because it was over and it wouldn’t affect anything. Hmmm, it’s still a matter of trust for Donald Trump.
Suddenly the men stormed back into The Apprentice boardroom (after stopping and talking to secretary to buzz them in), led by a fuming Clint. All three men did accompany him though, ready to defend his honor. I think that showed something to Mr. Trump too. Clint told his side, that Mahsa came up and told him what their team made last week after the task and he said he did not give her a number. My guess was that he was very happy when he heard her number, but as Clint said, he didn’t even know if she was telling the truth.
Donald Trump was through having his fun with Mahsa. Tonight enough was finally enough. Without Liza having to call anyone back, and with the men sitting there, Trump told Mahsa, “You’re fired!”
I still think it should come down to Clint, Anand and Steuart. If I had to choose a woman, it would be Poppy. She impressed me tonight and I hope she takes PM next week so I can see if she is that good. Hopefully it’s Poppy and David as PM’s next week, that would be fun!
Who are you rooting for at this point on The Apprentice 2010?

wow ! As glad as i am about Mahsa finally gettin out, i do think Liza got really lucky this time.. Coz clearly, she would've gotten ousted after this task ! I think Brandy, Anand, Stuart are good candidates.. Although, i wonder if Brandy has been playing safe all this while. She makes an opening statement about the project manager being great in the task, and never gets called into the boardroom. On the other hand, she does quietly carry out her tasks, and doesn't get into any fights n stuff (till last week i.e.) The men (except David) seem like smart gentlemen ! Lets see what the coming weeks show us ! I love this show !!!
ReplyDeletei guess i am rooting for anand but any of the men can do the job, except david. he's a baaad apple in my opinion. he would cause lots of office strife and toxicity.
