At this time it does appear Casey Abrams, the bearded blues singer, will return (though no official announcements have been made) to American Idol season 10 despite being hospitalized for a second time for Ulcerative Colitis.Abrams tweeted after being absent from last week's AI elimination show, "hey guys, thanks for the well wishes, I got some nice fresh blood in me and feeling better. People at Idol & Cedars are treatin me real good." You can follow Casey Abrams on Twitter to keep up to date with his progress and to wish him well.
It seems the stress of the American Idol schedule has likely contributed to the latest flare up of UC for Abrams. As is often the case with this chronic medical condition. There is no cure for UC, so it will likely continue to plague the artist for the rest of his life. Hopefully his doctors can get it under control so he can finish out AI season 10. Though he appears to be ready to come back to the show next week, only time will tell if he will be able to finish.
Casey Abrams has been my favorite singer of AI season 10, so I really hope he can continue. Even if Abrams has to pull out of the competition I have no doubt he will be picked up by a record label. His voice and musicality is much needed in today's music industry. Thankfully, Abrams seems to have a good head on his shoulders as he's stated on Twitter that knows his health is the most important thing.
