Christina Takes the Cake and Prize Job
On Hell's Kitchen Season 4 Finale

While Petrozza seemed to be the shoe in for the finale prize of Executive Chef for Gordon Ramsay's new L.A. restaurant, Christina showed him up in the end. After all she had won 9 individual Reward Challenges in a row to get to the finale.

Petrozza is, without a doubt, the nicest and hardest working contestant to be part of Hell's Kitchen since Season 1 (the winner, I think his name is Michael, in particular). Working hard, and getting people to work hard for you, are two entirely different things. I don't think Christina will actually be put in charge as the Executive Chef (maybe on a relief position), but she will win the money and get an extraordinary position as a sous chef under some of the best in the world.

Christina appeared to be a hard worker as well, and she has the...um...language skills to be a great chef.

The teams for the final service were:
Red Team:
Christina - Corey, LouRoss, and... Matt (dum,dum,duuuuuummmm!)

Blue Team:
Petrozza - Bobby, Ben, and... Jen (eek!)

This was not a great service for either team and Gordon Ramsay had to be thinking, "What the f--k have I done!" But they somehow managed to finish the dinner (I think because they had to).

Both finalist let the kitchens run them, of course both were dealing with attitudes. Welcome to the kitchen of any restaurant. Matt proved that he is emotionally underdeveloped, and Jen is just a bitch. Both pouted and stomped their way through a sloppy service doing only enough to make things...interesting! Matt kept telling Chef Ramsay to shut up, knowing he could no longer be fired, that was pretty funny.

In the end Gordon Ramsay made the only decision he could, take a piece of clay and mold it into a great chef. Petrozza simply didn't offer this option. While Petrozza is a great chef, I don't see him running a Five Star restaurant kitchen (he doesn't even seem comfortable).

Christina may have a lot of learning to do considering she told he mom that the hard part is over now. She also mentioned several times on the diary camera that this would be her last stressful service (I hope she meant in Hell's Kitchen). Oh man, has she ever worked in a real restaurant, there are usually utensils flying at some point - every night!

Good luck Christina and Petrozza, it was a fun season in Hell's Kitchen.

Next Week on the Finally of Hell's Kitchen Season 4

The three remaining contestants on Hell's Kitchen Season 4 (Christina, Corey and Petrozza), got rewarded for being the finalists tonight. Chef Gordon Ramsay let them eat lunch that he prepared with their family members.

Christina stayed in game mode, tasting and memorizing the dishes as she ate. Her mother even tried to advise her on a sauce ingredient (but did Christina listen to her mother, nooooo!)

Petrozza was in tears with his father and his girlfriend (not sure, but I think it was the father's girlfriend). He did not even notice the food.

Same with Corey, she had her boyfriend and mom visiting so she was busy chatting.

When the challenge was to recreate the dish, again it came down to Christina and Petrozza. Corey used the wrong meat... oops! Petrozza had no puree on his dish, and Christina did not use cream like her mother told her to do. In the end, Christina won her fourth (I think) consecutive individual challenge. Gordon Ramsay took her and her parents on a sightseeing and food tasting trip around LA.

Corey may have sealed her fate by not winning a single challenge in the end weeks, and having such a mild manner in the kitchen. I think she is a hard worker, but others will walk on her.

Watching the chef contestants yell at Chef Ramsay in practice for taking over the hot plate area was a riot. The girls were wholly uncomfortable, even as awkward as Ramsay tried to act he is still the 'sexy professor' type! Corey turned red trying to yell at him.

The Hell's Kitchen dinner service went well, all the contestants ran the point relatively well. Petrozza seemed the most in control during the chaos of a Christina meltdown on the fish station. Corey lost her place reading a ticket because an entree order was missing. None of the chef contestants seemed to be able to notice the small problems that were set up as stumbling blocks. Christina did the best, but it was an easy tasting issue.

Season 4 of Hell's Kitchen still seems to have the weakest crew yet. I hope Chef Ramsay can entrust a new kitchen to one of them. Remember the first season of Hell's Kitchen? I think the winner's name was Michael, that guy could cook with the greats! All of the contestants seemed to have a lot more experience. Maybe I'm just getting old!

The final four contestants on Hell's Kitchen Season 4 were Jen, Christina, Corey and Petrozza. A rather motley crew for Gordon Ramsay's normally ultra high standards, but this is reality TV. My guess would be that many talented chefs have seen the tantrums and don't want to be the brunt. Though every kitchen in the world has at least one chef with the same temper as Chef Ramsay, and a better guess would be that they could not tolerate being out tantrumed by the best.

Christina continues to surprise as she managed to win yet another Reward Challenge and did not have to spend the day cleaning and setting the kitchen and dining room with the other contestants. As it comes down to it, Petrozza is trapped in a world of estrogen. He is the last man standing in the kitchen, which is not the place to be if you are faint of heart. Thus far, he has befriended all and made very few mistakes in the dinner services. Petrozza has got to be the front runner for the Executive Chef position in Gordon Ramsay's newest restaurant. His biggest drawback is his utter 'piggy-ness' in the kitchen. Tonight he proved that even this poor trait can be overlooked if your skills are above par.

The final four contestants had the best dinner service of the season tonight. Finishing the service in record time, with only a few glitches and rants from Chef Ramsay. No one gave up or was overcome with emotion (though Corey had me worried a few times).

Christina placed a hot handled pan up for Chef Ramsay without warning him and burned his palm enough to force him to run cold water on it. He screamed at her to warn a person when the pan handle has been over a burner so no one gets injured. Christina promised not to let it happen again. Then did the exact same thing again, really causing a fit from Chef Ramsay. He accused her of intentionally burning him as he again ran his burned palm under cold water. To illustrate how hot the pan handle was, Gordon poured water on the handle which sizzled and steamed immediately.

Jen was on appetizers and doing a fairly good job. Her first few dishes were great, then the inconsistencies started. Inconsistency is the bane of the 5 star kitchen. Jen got her act together and regained control of her food quickly, but when help was called for she would have nothing to do with it. Chef Ramsay took notice of the fact that Corey was begging for help and Christina was the only one to jump in. Jen stood and told them she was busy stirring rizotto and refused to help.

After the successful dinner service, Chef Ramsay actually gave the team a high-five. He told them he was very impressed, but someone still had to leave. They were sent to the dorms to decide between themselves who the two nominees would be. The contestants decided to vote for who the two would be, but Jen cheated and voted for Christina twice.

It came down to Jen and Corey as the nominees to face Chef Ramsay. After not much time at all, Gordon chose to eliminate Jen from Hell's Kitchen with a heartfelt good-bye. He told her to keep cooking and learning, it was definitely her teamwork skills that did her in. I don't think Jen was anywhere near the chef that some of the other contestants were, but he gave her the opportunity to go further for the experience since there can only be one winner anyway.

I still think that the winner, hands down, will be Petrozza. Though the previews for next week's Hell's Kitchen show him going nuts with anger when put in charge of the kitchen. Not sure if it is a problem for him or if Chef Ramsay will appreciate his stepping up to be the boss.
