Hell's Kitchen: Fran is the Kitchen Cockroach

This week's Hell's Kitchen double header was full of joy and good cheer. Well a very short period of the two hour event went that way. In addition the now weekly raw risotto, we got to see a little wiener (sorry Ed).

Just to keep you in suspense, we'll review the first hour of Hell's Kitchen now.

Ben took over in the red kitchen and seemed to get them pointed in the right direction. The red team managed to win their first reward in a showdown between Ben and blue-haired Jay.

Things always fall apart for them when the customers hit the dining room though. Tonight was no different. Fran was in chaos again, and no communication with anyone on the team. Siobhan continued her subdued, fumbling ways throughout service.

Blue-haired Jay had his own issues as he tried to take over the blue kitchen. He immediately cut his finger, and nearly passed out. It was a deep cut.

Then there was Salvatore... poor Sal. He was just so terrified of Chef Ramsay that he remained his own worst enemy. In his own little fake Italian world, Salvatore pissed off Chef Ramsay for the last time tonight.

Chef Ramsay declared the blue kitchen the winners of the night, and the red kitchen immediately nominated Fran and Siobhan to leave Hell's Kitchen. Ramsay considered his options and turned on Salvatore, sitting with the men. Salvatore jumped up and took off his jacket like a whipped pup. He actually looked relieved to be going home.

On to the second hour of Hell's Kitchen.

After feeling quite picked on, Siobhan decided to grow a pair and stand up for herself and her chef-dom. The problem is she is not that good. Once she got her attitude on, there was no stopping Siobhan tonight.

Her team did not stand behind Siobhan at all. In fact they shunned her and her food for the reward competition opting for Fran's sandwich. Not a good choice. It wound up costing them the competition and Siobhan would not let them forget.

The blue team won a wine tasting trip. Sounds innocent enough. This is not your Frasier Crane wine tasting club. No siree. Autumn was drunk as a skunk before the tasting was over. Sitting in her chair giggling away. The guys were slightly intoxicated by the time they headed home. The girls on the red team were only too happy to help them get all the way intoxicated. To the point where Ed, the quietest guy of the season, took off his trunks in the hot tub (while standing on full display with arms up). *blurred wiener shot*

Needless to say, the blue kitchen was in sad sad shape the following day at service. Only two were not completely hung over. A huge advantage for the red kitchen. Hey, take what you can get... or create for yourself.

Sadly, the red kitchen could not even rise to beat a half drunken blue team even after many on both sides were expelled from the kitchen by Chef Ramsay. Again the red team would have to put up two for elimination. Again it was unanimous... Siobhan and Fran.

I though Chef Ramsay might do himself (and all of us) a favor and cut both poor cooks. Instead he ordered Siobhan to remove her jacket and catch a cab with Salvatore. Poor guy can't catch a break.

I think it's going to come down to Ben, Ed and Jay this season. I don't see anything decent from the women yet, but they may be hiding someone in editing.

Tune in to Hell's Kitchen next week to see who gets whacked!
