The Apprentice: Mahsa the Pitbull Stays, Tyana Goes Home Instead

It’s now painfully obvious that The Apprentice has become a game of alliances instead of business savvy. After tonight’s boardroom, Tyana was fired instead of the Project Manager Mahsa. She won her task last week as PM, and did get to meet with Russell Simmons.

Quote of the night: "You too can succeed... You're breathing the same air as billionaires..." ~ Russell Simmons when telling Tyana about the business world.

The Apprentice task tonight was to create a guerilla marketing video that would go viral online for Popcorn Indiana. Neither team really hit the nail on the head, but the men came much closer. According to Donald Trump it was very close, but after watching both videos that can’t really be true. It was obvious the men had a better idea, at least, and we saw the corporate guy laughing out loud at the men's video.

Though Wade stepped up in the boardroom last week and said he would be the PM this week for the men to show he could manage crazy Dave, he backed off and let Clint take the reigns. According to the team it was pre-decided that Clint would lead. Wade told Trump he backed off to show unity in the team. Probably the wise choice for him.

Mahsa acted as the Project Manager for the women’s team. I knew there would be drama since she is almost as nutty as Dave. When Dave had to leave for a “dental emergency”, Mahsa stepped in to lead the drama.

The men decided to stage a popcorn food fight. It was silly and had little or nothing to do with the product, but it was kind of funny (in a Three Stooges kind of way). They managed to create quite a stir on 5th Avenue in NYC. That’s what it was really all about.

The women chose to fight, bicker and argue. Nothing new. With Mahsa at the helm, it was her way or no way. Tyana tried continuously to say the idea they were working up was not good. She was shut down immediately by all the women. To be heard, you have to scream, and Tyana was not up for that. Her biggest problem was trying to back an idea she knew would fail. Tyana has no poker face, she was visibly not happy.

In the boardroom Tyana said she felt her team had lost. That’s just never good. Mahsa immediately got on her high horse and said Tyanna was the weakest player on The Apprentice and needed to go home. Wow. All this, again, before they even knew the outcome.

When Donald Trump declared the men winners of the task, it was not shocking.

Liza somehow got herself involved and started to back Tyana. When Trump asked her who should go home though, Liza put on the brakes and said Tyana. It was obvious she knew better than to try and out argue Mahsa, the former prosecutor.

Mahsa brought both Liza and Tyana back to the boardroom with her. Donald Trump Jr. had even said during his check up on the ladies during the task that Mahsa was totally in control and would have a hard time defending herself if her team lost.

Liza continued to pile on Tyana in the boardroom, as the rest of the team had prior to finding out the winner. Donald Trump said that played a huge factor in his choice to fire her. It’s pretty obvious at this point that the women are scared to death of Mahsa, the pitbull. If you can’t beat them, join them. Maybe that makes business sense... I don’t think so. With Mahsa in complete control of the task and shutting down any suggestions from anyone else, she should have been the one fired. Now it’s about ratings though, and Mahsa’s meanness is a draw, just as much as Dave’s craziness.

It’s really too bad. I used to be able to watch The Apprentice and learn some of the tricks of business. Now it has sadly devolved into alliances and back doors. It might as well be Big Brother.

  1. Thanks for not believing everything you see. I actually had a great idea that Mr. Trump LOVED. It was a POPCORN BIKINI stunt. Unfortunately the girls shut me down and thought it was too risque’. Thanks to the magic of editing I was made to look as if I didn’t contribute. Such is “reality” t.v. xoxo, Tyana

  3. Thanks for reading my recap Tyana. It's true, you can't believe everything shown on reality TV, it's still just editor's choice as to what's shown. I felt bad that it was shown that way, but I did see you attempt to make some suggestions only to be shut down quickly.

    Thanks for the comment!

  4. Great article, summarizes what any intelligent watcher is thinking. I can't believe that Tyana did not defend herself by simply saying to Mahsa "I won while you whined. But you didn't win when I complained."
