Biggest Loser 11: The Final Four Without Austin

Tonight was a bit of a shocker at the final weigh-in. It has been for the most part this season on Biggest Loser 11. There were more mental challenges this week for the final five, with a $10,000 prize for the winner. Hannah and Olivia still seem to be running with momentum for the finish line.

It seemed like Jay was the obvious choice to go home this week after the last few weigh-ins have been less than stellar for him. It was Austin who fell short though. Losing only one pound in the weigh-in, young Austin was eliminated and will now have to compete for the home prize.

The final five had to meet with each trainer and pass a mental challenge based on points for the cash prize. It was between the sisters, Hannah and Olivia, the entire time. When the final test was over Olivia outdid her sister by only a fraction (3 points) to win the money. Olivia said it would really help she and her husband get a fresh start. More on that later.

Part of the challenge was physical as the players had to face off against each other on the new Xbox Kinnect Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout game (which looked both grueling and fun). It was funny to hear Bob Harper’s voice yelling at them when they weren’t keeping up with the game. I’d buy it just for that motivation.

Jillian took the week to really focus on Jay and find out why he’s been struggling and disconnected for the last few weeks. Jay would have been sent home last week had it not been for Fairy Godfather Tim Gunn saving them all. That was Jay’s third strike basically, having already gone home once in the game and coming back to the ranch in a twist. Jillian drove the point home and finally broke him down during a particularly cruel workout.

The second challenge was a sandbag drill which looked absolutely horrid to complete. The winner would get a one pound advantage at the final weigh-in. Austin took the competition by storm and looked like he was heading full strength to the final four.

The BL11 contestants were taken to Subway for another mental challenge. More of a guessing game really. They had to guess how many calories were in the new Subway chicken sub (which looked so good I had to make a turkey sandwich while they ate). Hannah guessed right and was rewarded with a $500 Subway gift card. Not $10,000, but a win is a win.

At the weigh-in Alison Sweeney announced another twist. Go figure. This one involved Olivia and Austin, winners of the challenges. Austin was offered the opportunity to exchange his one pound advantage for cash ($10,000) which he did not accept.

Olivia was then offered the opportunity to cash in her prize of $10,000 for a one pound weight advantage. Jillian was all over her to take it. Bob was on the fence about it, telling Jillian that, “I’m the cautious one, not you!” In the end, Olivia kept the money. That really shocked me….and pissed Jillian off big time. Olivia insisted she and her husband needed the money to get a fresh start. Jillian Michaels at one point said, “I don’t give a ****, you better ****ing right!” I have not seen her that angry on Biggest Loser ever.

Here were the weigh-in numbers in order:

Hannah: - 4lbs
Irene:  -5lbs (you go Silent Ninja!)
Jay: - 9lbs (he’s baaaack!)
Olivia: -5lbs (Jillian nearly jumped out of her skin as the sisters appeared to both be headed for the yellow line)
Austin: -1lb (yep, only one pound plus the pound advantage)

Austin knew his fate as he stood crying on the Biggest Loser scale. It was between he and Hannah for elimination and no way was Hannah leaving with Olivia, Jay and Irene backing her.

The voting was quick and painful. Olivia cast her vote for Austin, followed quickly by Jay. That was all it took to send Austin home from BL11. I’m sure he’s going to be a huge threat for the at home prize money now. At least I hope so!

The BL11 final four are: Olivia, Hannah, Irene and Jay. Now that’s girl power!

What did you think of the Biggest Loser results tonight? Are you happy with the final four?

  1. Jay should have gone home. He's not anywhere close to thin, although he has lost a lot of weight and you have to give him credit for that.
