Celebrity Apprentice: The Wrath of NeNe and Obama

Just before Donald Trump could fire anyone NBC broke in with the “live” announcement of the death of Osama Bin Laden. The interruption started at 9:45c (10:45EST) and the President did not take the podium until 10:35c (11:35EST)… coincidence? Who cares... Osama Bin Laden is dead, thank you to all involved in the mission!

All week long NBC has milked the drama of the showdown between powerhouses NeNe Leakes and Star Jones on Celebrity Apprentice tonight. It happened. NeNe started the show ripping into Star Jones and did not relent the entire episode… well most of it anyway.

Back to Celebrity Apprentice and NeNe’s meltdown. NeNe immediately said Star was unfair in her treatment of LaToya in the boardroom, even though she backed her up. The next morning when Trump asked who would be the project manager for each team, NeNe began her tirade, “Star thinks that I should be so I guess I will.”

NeNe was off to the races then, right in front of the client. She said Star was manipulating all of the women and the other two would allow it but not her. “Don’t you ever play me like that!” yelled NeNe. “You talk a good game, now I want to see your street game!” She then walked down to stand nearly over Star Jones who was saying, “This is not Real Housewives” over and over. The men were even scared of NeNe by then.

More NeNe quotes to Star Jones:
“I know your game… I will take you down!”
“These are your puppets [pointing at Marlee and Hope] but I’m not!”
“Where’s Barbara Walters now?!”
“She is an evil, fat lady!”
“Even though you lost weight on the outside, your brain is still fat… and something is going on in there!”

The task, really filler at this point of a crazy season on Celebrity Apprentice, was to stage a hair show for Farouk Systems hair conditioners. The main theme was that they are made in the U.S.

Lil Jon lost a rock-paper-scissors war with Meatloaf to be forced into PM on team Backbone. The client is watching all of this. They should just say, “Ya know what? Just say our company name over and over during the show.” Don’t force them to be part of the circus.

The attack continued against Star Jones outside, where NeNe had her nearly backed up against a wall literally. It was obviously a struggle for Star to keep up her business façade in the firing line of NeNe’s tantrum. She kept it cool and asked Leakes, “will you tell me what I’m being accused of… or are you just going to yell?” To which NeNe yelled, “Shut the **** up! Punk *** b****!” Classy.

The men floated through the task, at least it was edited to look like that way. They were laughing at the NeNe meltdown. Meanwhile we’re shown a completely silent van full of women off to work together.

Team Backbone did come up with a good idea in asking former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Nikki Taylor to help with modeling. She said she was in and was surprised the women didn’t call her. Rich told her NeNe “almost pulled Star’s head off and used it as a doorstop” that morning. Nikki seemed relieved to be working with the men.

Team ASAP did manage to work together enough to get the task done. Thanks to Star Jones’ rolodex, they got a group of dancers. Star also handled the graphics for the task. At every corner lurked NeNe just waiting for a mistake from Jones. She was like a toddler telling everyone she could find that if they lost the boardroom would be “on fire.” We get it, you‘re mad.

Even though the men barely did a run through on stage, to the fears of Meatloaf, Lil Jon managed to engage the crowd well enough. Nikki Taylor helped out by bringing three more NYC models for the guys.

The women were scattered and a little boring again. The winner was an easy one, the men on Backbone survive again.

Then another drama was added. Earlier in the show Trump staged a poorly acted plea for her job by LaToya Jackson. Though he’s never done it before, Trump told Jackson he would think about it and tell her in 24 hours. In the boardroom, he invited LaToya Jackson in to join team Backbone. Gasp! Trump said the lesson was to “never quit!” We all know the real lesson is “Get Ratings!”

It appeared pretty obvious that Hope was on the chopping block for Trump this week. Though Obama’s revenge took out the actual footage from prime time, there is no way Trump would let the drama of more LaToya & NeNe versus Star Jones go. I’m going to go out on a very large limb and say that Hope Dworaczyk was fired tonight on Celebrity Apprentice. That is not official so hold all of your tickets until the announcers… well, you know the rest.

The real question tonight is whether President Obama purposely cut into the end scenes of  Celebrity Apprentice after all of the recent attacks from Trump. I wouldn’t blame President Obama and I actually thought it was kind of funny if done out of spite. I hope the president doesn’t have that much time on his hands though. I want to believe it was the perfect coincidence.

So what did you think of the NeNe Leakes meltdown tonight? How do you think Star Jones handled the bullying attempts? And, do you think the president broke into programming on a Trump show on purpose?

Update: It was indeed Hope who was fired tonight on Celebrity Apprentice.

  1. I do indeed think that Obama purposely broke into Trumps show earlier than was necessary to attempt to show his authority as the president. However, I also think that Obama will certainly try to take credit for taking Osama Bin Ladin down, when I don't think he had much to do with it. I suspect it was covert operations that had been in place for years (from back in Bush's administration). However, I don't think it will do him much good. As an American, I'm glad hes dead, but what's equally important to me is how the Arab countries are raping the American people and holding us hostages via the steep gas prices at the pump. Obama better address that issue or he will be hung out to dry, no matter who the military takes out. Do your job Obama, like the US military did theirs. Don't however, hang your hat on their victory--make changes that cure this countries financial disaster.

  2. Really? The person that printed the above comment is absolutely delusional. Here we are at what looks like a turning point in History and you want to discredit the accomplishments of the President. Sure it started with the Bush administration but it ended with Obama. Is this the end of terrorism? I'm certain it's not but the world would be a better place without people casting stones - we are the american people. When we make accomplishments and celebrate victories we do it as a whole. I mean seriously think about it. He is the President not God, even though I'm sure most people would like to think so but the President by himself and all the administration in the world can't change things overnight. Bravo to our military forces that engaged in the capture of one of the most publicly known terrorists in the country. It seems that no matter what Obama does or tries to do it will never be good enough for some. If the gas prices come down then people are gonna complain about paying taxes at the grocery store, or him not preventing natural disasters - I mean come on already. If Mr. Obama does anything less than present a perfect society within the time he's in office MOST people would consider him a failure. But for those that recognize that he is proactively making an attempt at succeeding where other administrations have failed I think he deserves an applause. Let's be realistic, will he accomplish everything in 4 years I doubt it but he's on his way. People act like he made the world as you see it today they way it is... he didn't - let's get past speaking of hanging people out to dry and start lifting people up. And another thing, if he wanted to interrupt Apprentice on purpose he could have interrupt the whole show not the last 10 minutes. Regardless, I doubt the President could care less about Trump or even knows what times his show airs for that matter.

  4. The President's press man tells the stations that he will be making a statement. I think the stations made the decision to interrupt when they did. None of them wanted to be upstaged by the others so they went on immediately in order not to lose there audience to another channel. We have all seen the breaking news streams and the President is there in a few minutes. Networks were so scared they wouldn't be the first to break whatever the news was. Loved that it interrupted the most arrogant man in TV.
