Jeff Probst kicked off Survivor Nicaragua by narrating what we’ve apparently missed on the edit room floor (thanks to NaOnka’s antics, likely). There were three solid alliances, now there are two. Chase, Jane and Holly are strong mentally and physically. Benry, Dan and Fabio are the other unlikely trio. Sash had to choose a new side. All know that Sash holds a hidden immunity idol (given to him by Marty), so he’s safe for tribal council anyway.
Sash talked to Chase and was upfront about having the idol. Chase said they were good, and they should stay with the women (Holly & Jane). Chase also said at the next Reward Challenge Holly and Sash were givens to be asked along if they didn’t win.
The Reward Challenge was a second look at previous challenges of Survivor Nicaragua. The first round was a race through a mud pit to a bale of hay. Find a ball in the hay, take it out of the bag and toss it in the barrel. Chase, Jane, Benry and Holly moved on to round two.
The remaining four had to work a key off a coil above their heads using a long stick. Then unlock a chest to get out sandbags and toss onto a barrel. Chase and Benry moved on to the final round.
The two men had to dig in sand with a paddle for three rings. Then toss the rings onto hooks. Chase won, missing only one toss. He was nearly perfect for the entire challenge. For reward Chase and two people of his choosing would be taken to a private resort overnight. Food and showers for all. Chase chose Holly first... then Jane. DUM DUM DUMmmm! (Dramatic music and a correct description of his moronic play in Survivor Nicaragua).
While away, Sash buddied up to Benry and the boys. He acted like he would fall on their side since Chase left him out of the reward. None of them really believed him. The men decided to eat the last chicken, which they had aptly named “Kelly-nay” since they were chickens in the game of Survivor. They said good-bye to Kelly-nay as they skinner her and put her in the pot.
Holly showed her grasp of the game of Survivor, pulling Chase aside at the resort to scold him for his stupid game play. Chase admitted it was a huge mistake leaving Sash behind to bond with the other side. Jane would have been upset, but she’s solidly on their side.
When they got back to camp Jane cried over the death of Kelly-nay and built a small memorial for her. Memories... of Survivors from before......
Benry saw Sash welcoming the others back from reward and it was obvious he was tight with them. Later Benry saw them all talking and he started to sweat a little. In full scramble mode, Benry approached Chase to strike a deal. He offered his vote for Fabio if that would save him for another week. Chase accepted Benry’s offer, as long as Fabio did not win immunity.
The Immunity Challenge was fairly easy. Another challenge of elimination rounds, players first had to unwind themselves from a rope tied to a log. They had to get the rope long enough to reach a sandbag. Benry, Fabio and Sash advanced to the final round... a puzzle. Where is Boston Rob when you need him?!
Sash took his time to figure out the puzzle. Fabio openly copied Sash (hey, go with your strengths). Benry gave up early, and pretty much stood around. Sash won individual immunity... the huge necklace matches his huge ego. All of a sudden Sash was back atop his throne, looking down at all the little people on Survivor Nicaragua.
Though they made it look like Fabio was in desperate trouble tonight, It was Benry that got the votes. Four votes, in fact, to Fabio’s two votes and Holly’s single vote.
My favorite part of Survivor Nicaragua Tribal Council tonight was when Jeff Probst introduced the Jury, “... including the two that quit last week...” I hope he says it every week. I can’t wait to take a peek at the videos if they put them up on CBS.com this season for the Jury House. They may not, it may get ugly. Then again, I think those that left before NaOnka have more class than that.
The final six on Survivor Nicaragua are: Chase, Jane, Fabio, Holly, Dan and Sash. I’d like to see a Chase & Jane final two, but that would be boring. Fabio & Chase would be a good final two. Holly and Jane would be an incredible final two. Who do you want to see in the finals of Survivor Nicaragua?
