After all the series finales at the end of last season, I’m excited about some of the new shows coming to network TV.Here are the fall 2010 network TV shows I’m looking forward to:
“The Event” (NBC)
Please tell me what the event is, NBC! I’ve been waiting patiently. I’ve already made a thousand guesses as to what it is. I know Jason Ritter is in “The Event”, that’s a good sign. I know Blair Underwood is in it, another good sign. There appears to be a lot of covert activity and cover up involved in “The Event”, I’m hoping I can keep up. The show will air Mondays at 9/8c on NBC.
“Lonestar” (FOX)
The story of “Lonestar” is that of a con man living two lives. It should be just as covert as “The Event” in the lie department. I’m not sure this will become a favorite, but it looks good from the trailers. It has an awesome cast of supporting actors including Jon Voight and David Keith. This may conflict with “The Event”, but FOX does a great job of getting shows up online almost immediately. “Lonestar” also airs Mondays at 9/8c on FOX.
“Chase” (NBC)
I’m on the fence with “Chase”, but I want to like this new crime drama. I’m just not sure I’ll like a female in the lead on another rough cop show. I finally got to like Lilly on “Cold Case” and they end the show on me. Do I bother to get involved again, only to have the rug ripped out from under me at the hands of a ruthless network TV exec? I’ll give it one more shot, bring on “Chase”.
“Body of Proof” (ABC)
Only because Jeri Ryan is in this ABC offering will I watch “Body of Proof”. I’ve never been a fan of Dana Delaney, so we’ll see what happens. It’s a “Quincy” type show, in the way of a medical examiner solving crimes. The rest of the supporting cast looks good together, so we’ll see. “Body of Proof” airs on Friday nights at 9/8c, nothing else on anyway.
“Blue Bloods” (CBS)
Watching “Blue Bloods” should give me the Tom Selleck fix I’ve been missing. I’m guessing CBS is trying to fill the void of “NYPD Blue”, the last great cop drama on network TV. This won’t be the cute Tom Selleck from “Friends”, and I’m glad. I like my Tom in high drama. “Blue Bloods” is the story of a New York City family of cops and the trials and tribulations they go through. The trailers look really good.
That’s it for my list of must see’s for the fall 2010 network TV season. Of course these will have to find their places among the returning favorites: “Medium”, “Criminal Minds”, “CSI”, “The Amazing Race”, “Survivor”, “The Apprentice” and “Hell’s Kitchen”. I think they’ll even things out with the reality onslaught.
