AGT 2010: Arcattack and Prince Poppycock Go to the Semifinals

Ah, remember Prince Poppycock? What a season that was of America's Got Talent. Come with me, step back in time, and relive the 2010 season of AGT!

Four more acts move into the semifinals on AGT 2010 tonight. Bret Michaels performed live and unplugged. Find out all the details!
The 4th week of quarterfinal competitions ended last night on America's Got Talent. Tonight the results were revealed live and four more acts joined the group of semi finalists. Last night was the closest night of competition and one act in particular was left on AGT.

Nick Cannon called out the first group of AGT acts: Doogie Horner, Mary Ellen and Murray. I was a little worried that somehow a joke would be played on us and Mary Ellen would be allowed to continue. Thankfully, mercifully, the magic of Murray and his tiger were enough to boot Mary Ellen from our lives.

Taio Cruz entertained the crowd with his hit single "Dynamite" from his album Rock Star.

Taylor Mathews, Da Maniacs and Lindsey Stirling all came out as the second group to learn their fate. This was a pretty easy call after last night's performances. I was glad to see Taylor Mathews up against the other two act. Taylor Mathews was pronounced the second act moving on in AGT 2010.

Nick Cannon called out Strikers All Stars, Nu Covenant and Prince Poppycock for the third group. Tough group to call. Prince Poppycock had the best performance of the three acts last night, but Strikers All Stars were very good in auditions. Live performance is what counts though, and I think America got it right by sending Prince Poppycock on to the semi finals.

The second live performance tonight came from none other than Bret Michaels. Taking the stage with just his guitar, Bret belted out "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". Vocally it was rough... but it was real. There was no lip sync-ing, no big band to fall back on or track playing in the background. Bret Michaels took the stage live and actually performed. Nice job.

The final group took the stage. Rudi Macaggi, Arcattack and Anna & Patryk joined Nick Cannon for the judges decision. First one act is always eliminated. This week Rudi Macaggi was robbed by being sent home first without even facing the judges. Rudi is a trained circus performer and quite professional and daring. I thought sure he would get through.

The judges discussed the final decision during the commercial break. Piers Morgan made his decision first, voting for the ballroom dancing kids Anna & Patryk. Howie Mandel cast his vote fairly quickly for Arcattack. Sharon Osbourne was left with the deciding vote and though she like the kids, she loved Arcattack the second time she saw them. Nothing to do with them doing Ozzy songs I'm sure.

So far the semi finalists in AGT 2010 are: Fighting Gravity, Christina & Ali, Nate Kenyon, Future Funk, Michael Grimm, Alice Tan Ridley, Ascendance, Antonio Restivo, Haspop, Studio One Young Beast Society, Debra Romer, Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, Murray, Taylor Mathews, Prince Poppycock and Arcattack.

Next week we get to see the online acts perform live. The YouTube.com community chose one act to compete against 11 acts chosen by the AGT producers. The final set of semi finalists will then be chosen.
