62nd Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards: Winners List and Highlights

For those of you who enjoy looking back at who won what 2010 Emmy award in what year I have my post that was previously on Yahoo!Voices. It really is kind of fun to look back and remember when George Clooney was honored for his humanitarianism and "Modern Family" broke out into stardom.

For the second time this week I find myself admitting that Jimmy Fallon is funny. Hosting the 62nd Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards tonight, Fallon was great in the opening number. It was a bit too much "Glee" for me, but it was a decent spoof to "Born to Run".

Another fact that was clear tonight, Betty White is truly America's sweetheart. NBC milked everything they could from her lovable fame. If she were anyone else it would have failed, but Betty White is truly our "Golden Girl".
Jewel performed during the "In Memorium" break, and I was struck by how many true stars television lost this year. Individually it must have slipped past me that so many greats were leaving us, but to see the names and faces in succession was truly sad.

Bob Hope Humanitarian Award: George Clooney

George Clooney is every bit deserving of this award, and always humble. He joked at the standing ovation he received saying, "...don't do that, then I'll think I'm sick and don't know it, but all you guys do..." Clooney has been a major fund raiser for the earthquake in Haiti and so many other causes this year. He asked that someone invent a way to keep the need for these and other people in our fore thoughts. (I have Kevin Costner working on that now!)

The 62nd Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards ended as quickly as the last cast member of "Modern Family" left the stage. Ed O'Neill may still be wandering around up there. For the rest of us, it just an anxious wait for next years Emmy Awards.
