We’re back to the regular network TV schedule tonight. No holiday specials in sight. There are some great options for tonight’s viewing pleasure in prime time. The Sing-Off comes to a fast end on NBC. Also, FOX is premiering their latest prime time game show, Million Dollar Money Drop. Get ready for some fun!

Here’s what’s on network TV tonight:

8/7c: Skating With the Stars - live
The final three couples will perform during the last night of competition on the ice. Not sure if we’ll see a second season of this slick celebrity skating competition. I think ABC can do better than this. Find out the winner later this wee.

Skating With the Stars: Vince Neil Rocks Off the Ice

Vince NeilVince Neil is the second to get the axe on Skating With the StarsImage by Tawny Rockerazzi via Flickr
Skating With the Stars starts each episode with an elimination. Mercifully tonight, Vince Neil was the sacraficial lamb who was led off the ice early. I'm happy for the rocker. It's better that we not see you attempt the jump that was required of the rest of the celebs on ice tonight. Oh, and Vince... Don't go away mad, just go away!

The remaining skaters had to perform a seduction on ice, complete with one full jump. This was going to be painful. Vince Neil should really feel lucky he did not have to compete. Two competitors were injured during rehearsals.

I'm passing you off to our faithful reporter Sherry Wight for the full story on this week's Skating With the Stars episode:

Skating With the Stars: the Diva Leaves Early, the Rocker Stays

Skating With the Stars kicked off week two by kicking off one of the celebrities from last week. They did make them skate first though, so it was anyone's guess as to who would leave first. Front runner for the first big flush seemed to be former Motley Crue front man Vince Neil. It was not to be though. Neil's clunkiness on ice skates will be seen for at least one more week (to the chagrin of metal fans everywhere), as the diva Sean Young was the first one eliminated from Skating With the Stars season one.

Let's go to Sherry Wight for the full recap on this week's Skating With the Stars:

Skating With the Stars Premiere: No falls, but no thrills either...

2008 World Championships. Johnny WeirJohnny Weir judges on Skating With the Stars on ABCImage via Wikipedia
Okay, so I missed the Skating With the Stars premiere last night. It's probably for the best. I don't like seeing people out of their elements. All I would have been watching for were wrecks... and those did not happen. Though there were no major train wrecks on Skating With the Stars, there were no real thrills either. In fact, after reading the recap and scores from last night, the show may be struggling already.

My main interest was in seeing Vince Neil on ice skates, and I'm glad I missed it. Hopefully my best friend from high school missed it as well. It was not pretty. Vince did stay on his skates though, as did the others, and did not get the lowest score of the night. I still think the sight of him stumbling around on skates would hinder the cool thoughts we had of him though. (Don't watch, Mary!)
