What’s on Network TV Tonight? (Saturday 4/16/11)

Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest (Widescreen Edition)Saturday is normally the day off for most people who watch TV. We usually get bombarded with reruns or the occasional movie. I’d love to tell you this Saturday night is different. It is, but only slightly. FOX is premiering a new show instead of their weekly dose of true crime drama.

Here’s what’s on network TV tonight:

ABC
8/7c: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest - movie special
The sequel to the original Johnny Depp pirate movie.

CBS
8/7c: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - rerun
9/8c: Hawaii Five-0  - rerun

10/9c: 48 Hours Mystery - new episode
Casey Anthony’s case is revisited, focusing on her defense in her trial for the murder of her 2 year old daughter and burying her near their Florida home.

CW local programming

FOX
8/7c: Truth Be Told - new episode
Candace Cameron Bure stars as a marriage counselor in Colorado who fears she won’t be taken seriously since she is single. It may jeopardize her chances as a radio talk show host. David James Elliot and Ronny Cox also star. Danny Gokey (AI runner-up) makes a guest appearance.

NBC
8/7c: Law & Order: Los Angeles - rerun
The end of Skeet Ulrich’s character and the ADA steps down.

9/8c: Law & Order: Los Angeles - rerun
Detectives wind up on the trail of a serial rapist after investigating a home invasion.

10/9c: Law & Order: SVU - rerun
A Take Back the Night rally at Stabler’s daughter’s college leads a girl to accuse her rapist.

The new show, Truth Be Told, may be worth a look on a boring Saturday night. Reruns of CSI and SVU are never bad either. I will not recommend the new Law & Order: LA… they should have stopped while they were ahead. And don’t forget the healthy dose of Johnny Depp offered up on ABC. So, what are you watching on network TV tonight?
