Future Funk and Fighting Gravity Go to Semi Finals on AGT

Tonight was more of a sigh of relief than a shocker on America's Got Talent. The voting public did not allow for any silly groups to slip into the semi final round. Voters decided the first three acts to go through and the fourth was left to the judges to choose between the 4th and 5th vote-getters.

The acts were called out in groups of three. The first group consisted of Airpocalypse, Nate Kenyon and Sally Cohn. Nathaniel Kenyon, the sickly singer from last night (with Justin Bieber hair) was the only slight surprise of the night. I thought he might wind up getting picked by the judges, but apparently his looks carried him to the semi finals of AGT.

Selena Gomez took the stage to perform her new single, or rather to lip sync. She did look fantastic in a beautiful dress. I'll giver her performance a Paula Abdul clap.

First Live Night on America's Got Talent: Fighting Gravity is the Act to BeatAmer

The first 12 acts took the stage live tonight in the America's Got Talent quarter finals. Only four will move on to the semi finals. Judging from tonight's performances it may be tough to find four in this group.

Here is how the night played out on AGT.

First up was Kung Fu Heroes, a combination of martial arts and dancing. They were okay and may have wanted to go easy in case of opening night nerves. They better go bigger if they get to come back for the semi finals.

Piers: "... it wasn't as mad as in your audition..."

Sharon:"...it was more like a martial arts exhibition."

Howie:"...it's the choreography that was weak..." and then described the group as "Power Rangers with eye shadow".
