Hero Tom Goes Home on Survivor: Heroes Vs Villains

James lost at battle on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains tonight, but Tom lost the war. The Heroes camp is looking pretty thin, and not for a lack of food.

At the first Reward Challenge, a combination rugby and basketball game, James hurt his knee. We got to see as he tried to walk it off and it popped back out. They let him stay in the Survivor game, but he was benched from play. The Villains took advantage and won the game. The reward was a buffet of lavish chocolate. Just what you need after days of little to no food. These Survivor players seem to be eating much better though. There is almost a constant flow of chickens into both camps.

At the Villains camp, Russell Hantz found the Hidden Immunity Idol (gasp!). He then began his game of showing it and making promises, mostly with Parvati. Coach meanwhile through Tyson's sane advice out the window and decide to invite the team to do group zen crap down on the beach with him. Tyson and Sandra giggle through the whole thing. Rob rolled his eyes, but attempted to follow along. Evil Russell went on his Idol hunt.

Survivor Heroes Vs. Villains: "There's no one left with honor, not out here" Coach pontificates

When last we left our Heroes and Villains on Survivor, James was booting out Stephanie. Well, the tribe voted for her, but it was on the back of James' comments and ill will toward her. Safer to vote out the other strong voice.

Tom chose to take the high road back at Heroes camp (we would expect nothing less). I really hate the way he openly badmouths James behind his back though. He did tell James he could have said things in a nicer way to Stephanie, that's telling him Tom.

Turning to our Villains of Survivor, hearing Evil Russell and Parvati cackling together is enough to keep me up and creeped out all night. Boston Rob is onto all the couples and he knows how powerful that kind of alliance is.

Coach and Jeri are the other couple in the Villains camp, ick times two. Seeing Coach stroking Jeri's locks... *shudder*.

The Heroes camp came together over a chicken catching at the camp. Several more chickens were rustled up, keeping these reality TV starves plump. Far from our wasting competitors of previous seasons.

Surviving Survivor: A CBS Recap Before Heroes Vs. Villains Kicks Off

Next week starts the 20th season (and 10th year) of the hit CBS reality TV show Survivor. This season will be another all-stars game titled Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains. There has been fair share of both on the show over the years.

Richard Hatch, straight out of federal prison for tax evasion after winning the million dollar prize in the first season of Survivor, is the ultimate Villain. The one guy that set the standard for mind games for every season of the game. Richard "Naked Ass" Hatch approached the game like a bully in a schoolyard. It paid off big for him, no other players even knew how to react to his antics. I actually think he's pretty funny and was glad he won.

Arguing for his place in hell... er, Survivor history, is Russell "Evil Russell" Hanz. Last season's Lucifer and truly the most arrogant person I've ever heard speak. He is so egotistical it makes me giggle. Maybe that's part of the game. Russell Hanz stood over Richard Hatch until the final scenes of Surviving Survivor, when Hatch stood up to show the Hanz did not even come to his shoulders (not even close). I almost fell down laughing. Evil Russell said he is still the greatest Survivor player ever, Richard finished "that never won." Though producer made us think the devils would face each other, it's not to be. Hatch applied for early release from home confinement on his tax evasion sentence and was denied.

Survivor Samoa: Natalie White Wins in the Ultimate Backdoor

"Evil" Russell Hantz Loses the Sole Survivor Title

Natalie White upset "Evil" Russell Hantz on the finale of Survivor: Samoa, winning the $1 million dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor. Keep those last two words in mind. Russell Hantz is the most polarizing character in Survivor history, but should have won the game. At least he will forever believe so. The final vote count gave Natalie four votes and enough to take the final win, and dole out the final backdoor to the master Russell.

Survivor came into it's 19th season a little worn and tired looking. I had lost interest in the last few seasons and only watched the finales. This season looked different during the promos. This Russell guy kept showing up with a ton of trash talk. I figured I'd check it out. He'd either be out immediately or be a master. He is a master.

Not since CBS stumbled onto "Evil" Dick on Big Brother has there been such a deeply disturbing personality been focused on. We all know one of these people. They aren't bad people, just ferociously focused on the goal. Nothing will stop them. The problem is, "Survivor" is a team sport. Right to the bitter end. Russell had no respect for any of the other castaways on "Survivor Samoa". His condescension and arrogance showed threw to every single one of the contestants. He was a good back to ride though, so they cut their losses and rode on the alligator's back. Of course he ate them, it's what he does.

The million dollar prize is usually what drives the Survivor contestants. As Jeff Probst read the final jury votes and pronounced Natalie the winner of Survivor Samoa, Russell was visibly fuming. Probst may as well have said "the loser of Survivor: Samoa is Russell..". Russell took it like a man, he just could not find his Academy Award runner-up clap and nod face. In fact, he continued to play the game.

Jeff Probst, ever the antagonist, honed in on Russell's red face and said, ".. you look visible upset..." To which Russell went into a brief explanation of why he should have won (all very valid points).

Russell continued by saying that he still did not care about the money, he would pay Natalie $10,000 right now to have Probst announce that he, Russell, is the "Sole Survivor". Probst said he would get back to him. Throughout the rest of the reunion you could see Russell gently working Natalie. When Probst finally asked Natalie if she would accept, she declined the offer. So Russell offered Natalie $100,000 for the same pronouncement. Natalie declined. Jeff Probst choked on his words as he said, "..we are talking about two words here, 'Sole Survivor'.... Russell I'll call you that every day for $100,000". Sorry folks, I'm sure Mark Burnett owns those two little words.

"Survivor: Samoa" definitely turned out to be the best season in quite some time for the reality TV series. Here is the run down of the most amusing characters from season 19. Since there were a few analogies to the office atmosphere, I'll match each one to a character on "The Office".

"Evil" Russell - Self proclaimed millionaire businessman, Russell is the guy you love to hate. He is focused, period. Totally "Dwight Schrute". Russell comes armed with the ammunition (and then some) to do the job. God help you if you are in the way (or he doesn't know how to use the weapons).

Mick - The young doctor who gave us an anatomy lesson on every single episode of Survivor: Samoa. Wearing his shorts so low the blur had to be in the front of him. Mick also proved that he could hold the world record for most number of days sitting in a tree trunk. Sorry Mick, I dub thee "Toby". Never have I been so bored.

Natalie - "Pam"... well, duh. Nice girl, nothing wrong with that... or is there?

"Shambo" Shannon - What can you say about this mullet wearing, life-loving, ex-marine ...other than enter "Michael Scott". "Shambo" has talked with chickens and God this season. She reminded me of "Michael Scott" from the start, no matter how many times she's flushed, "Shambo" won't go down. She gave us words like: "shambolicious", and sent us all to Google for "fectless" on finale night (which should be 'feckless').

Jaison - now I don't want to take crap for naming Jaison as "Stanley", it's not that they are both African-American. Do you ever see "Stanley" smile? Did you ever see Jaison smile? See? Jaison gave a judgemental speech in the reunion show about Russell being the guy in the office that everyone hates. Jeff Probst asked Russell if he had anything to say, "He's still made because I burned his socks!" With that Russell stood, took out a new pair of socks to hand to Jaison. Russell turned and threw the socks in the fire instead for the speech Jaison made.

Brett - Brett started Survivor: Samoa as "The Invisible Man", but somehow defied the laws of physics and became more powerful as his body shrunk. We never heard of this man child with tousled hair until it was obvious that Russell was in complete control of the game. Out stepped "Jim Halpert". Brett was able to make his piece with the dominating Foa Foa tribe and Natalie ("Pam") in particular. Of course she was the last female left on Survivor: Samoa.

I'll leave the rest of the cast for you to fill in and match up.

We were given a glimpse of the 20th season of Survivor. Another All-Stars season, this should be a fun one. Though no names were released, it's rumored that Russell will return. Makes sense since the title is Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains. Now to decide who should join him. No others have stood out as much as Evil Russell did on this season of Survivor.
