Survivor Nicaragua: Reunion Show Recap

A recreation of the logo for the first America...Image via Wikipedia
After Fabio was named the winner of Survivor Nicaragua, the entire cast was reunited for the final hour. This is the time we often learn more about what was left on the editing room floor during the season, and why some votes went the way they did. Then there are the awkward times when we learn a little too much about the Survivor contestants. It’s always a fun show.

Jeff Probst started with Fabio, asking him if the nickname has stuck. “You started out here as Judson. Has the new name stuck?” Jud told us that he is now Fabio, likely forever. Then we got to see a picture of Jud in his modeling days pre- Survivor Nicaragua. Yum! This was also the time when Fabio confessed to being from a family of artists. His father invented “something” and his grandfather designed the folding card table for Samsonite (I believe he said that company). No need for Jud to take care of his family, it appears.

Stephanie is Kryptonite on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains

Tonight on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains we were anxiously awaiting the fall of King Rob. Boston Rob that is, who the previews showed as falling unconscious in the forest.

Day 4 found the Villains' camp still with no shelter. They had started and rebuilt several times, all the while Boston Rob staying relatively quiet. This day, he finally broke. Walking off into the woods, frustrated by Pavarti spewing guidance over all of his directions, Jerri trailed Boston Rob. Earlier he had complained of being dizzy and having a headache.

We did not see Boston Rob fall in the woods. There was some drunken camera movement to simulate what he was seeing (how stupid is that) then Jerri calls to Rob from a few feet away. By the time Jerri reaches Boston Rob he is laying down, with a shirt folded neatly under his head...hmmmm.

Casting is a Hit for Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains Week 1

The casting is amazing for Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, starting the shows 20th season and tenth year. The villains are truly love-to-hate players from the past. The heroes were almost all great players (and corrected that tonight).

Standout villains include Russel Hantz from last season's second place finish. Still convinced he is the greatest Survivor player ever, Russel started his game right where his last game ended. Making final two deals with anyone who would listen. Funny they did not show Russel digging up an Immunity Idol... yet.

Boston Rob is the other love-him-or-hate-him guy on the side of evildoers. While Rob is not really evil, he is a sneaky and a very strong Survivor player. Now married to Amber, his Survivor sweetheart, Rob is really more annoying than evil. There were scary scenes from next week concerning Boston Rob, so be prepared for anything (as always).

Surviving Survivor: A CBS Recap Before Heroes Vs. Villains Kicks Off

Next week starts the 20th season (and 10th year) of the hit CBS reality TV show Survivor. This season will be another all-stars game titled Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains. There has been fair share of both on the show over the years.

Richard Hatch, straight out of federal prison for tax evasion after winning the million dollar prize in the first season of Survivor, is the ultimate Villain. The one guy that set the standard for mind games for every season of the game. Richard "Naked Ass" Hatch approached the game like a bully in a schoolyard. It paid off big for him, no other players even knew how to react to his antics. I actually think he's pretty funny and was glad he won.

Arguing for his place in hell... er, Survivor history, is Russell "Evil Russell" Hanz. Last season's Lucifer and truly the most arrogant person I've ever heard speak. He is so egotistical it makes me giggle. Maybe that's part of the game. Russell Hanz stood over Richard Hatch until the final scenes of Surviving Survivor, when Hatch stood up to show the Hanz did not even come to his shoulders (not even close). I almost fell down laughing. Evil Russell said he is still the greatest Survivor player ever, Richard finished "that never won." Though producer made us think the devils would face each other, it's not to be. Hatch applied for early release from home confinement on his tax evasion sentence and was denied.
