Biggest Loser 10 Week 7: Anna Leaves on Marine Week

Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will LoveShortened due to election coverage, the Biggest Loser moved at the pace of a Marine Corps boot camp workout. Good thing, since that was the theme for the week. Teams were taken by helicopter to Camp Pendleton to work out with Marines. Both teams failed at food intake though, and Anna paid the price when her team voted her off.

Teams were whisked away to Camp Pendleton right off the bat. The Marines gave the contestants no breaks. Well, okay, they were likely far nicer and more motivational than when trying to break in recruits. The ‘troops’ were up at the crack of dawn though, and moving nearly constantly.

The Biggest Loser 10: Adam Goes Home (with his prize in his pocket)

Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will LoveIt was another night of twists for the contestants of the Biggest Loser 10. Tonight only one person’s weight loss on each team would matter. Teams would choose who they wanted to weigh in from the opposite team. No reason for it, just a new shake up for the ranch.

Elizabeth was the obvious target of the Blue team. She has consistently pulled in low number. Jillian was way ahead of them. She focused most of the gym time and nearly all of the final workout on Elizabeth.

Bob spread the workout around, like it was any other week. All players would benefit, but that doesn’t always mean a win on the Biggest Loser.

The Biggest Loser: Rick Is the First Guy Eliminated on BL10

The Biggest Loser Sermon ArtworkThe Biggest LoswerImage by mufan96 via Flickr
Week five of the Biggest Loser was a brutal one, both for game play and in the gym. We expect the gym to be brutal, but the game play is lousy. Jillian will likely be on the war path next week, after one player in particular appeared to throw the weigh in. Then, in a surprise elimination, Rick was voted off by his new teammates.

Here’s how the night went down.

First, one player that did not make the original cut was allowed to join the others at the Biggest Loser ranch. The person was chosen in the most fair way possible, by highest percentage of weight loss. Every weigh in should be this fair. Corey, Shanna, Montina, Sandy and Anna were the players vying for the single spot. Anna won with an at-home weight loss of 39lbs, or a whopping 11.82% of her original weight (330lbs down to 291lbs).

The Biggest Loser Week 2 Recap: Allie Goes Home First

Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will LoveThere are some new twists on The Biggest Loser this season, as promised. There is also another war of the sexes shaping up. The women are always at a disadvantage when things work out that way. The men drop a lot of weigh quickly before hitting a plateau. Allie was the first contestant voted off The Biggest Loser this season after all the men were pronounced safe.

The first twist was the announcement that Jillian and Bob were each allowed to bring back one contestant that did not make the first cut. Jillian chose Elizabeth, the girl with asthma that passed out trying to complete the 500 step challenge to get to the ranch. Bob chose Aaron, the first guy eliminated on the 500 stair challenge with young kids at home. Aaron started as the heaviest contestant on The Biggest Loser this season at 468lbs.

The Biggest Loser Season 10 Premiere: Grab the Kleenex!

Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will LoveI admit I was not a fan of The Biggest Loser from the start. Then I saw a few more episodes.. and a few more. I am now a fan of the weight loss program. My biggest issue with the show was the game play part. Just help them lose weight! Now I’m starting to understand it better. I think I finally ‘get’ it. Season 10 of The Biggest Loser kicked off tonight with some of the saddest stories to date.

While other reality shows are moving to the sad story background to gain viewers and votes for their contestants, this is the one show where they belong. Sad stories don’t affect your voice for singing, they don’t affect your legs for singing... they have everything to do with obesity. The stories of the season 10 contestants are the most heart wrenching yet.

Fall premiers continue tonight on network television. CBS and NBC welcome back some returning favorites, while FOX and ABC show a couple of brand new offerings.

ABC dedicates the first two hours of prime time to “Dancing With the Stars”. The new show “Detroit: 1-8-7” premiers at 10/9c to end the evening. While I’m not a fan of DWTS, the drama series that follows looks interesting.

CBS offers the return of “NCIS” and two hours of “NCIS: Los Angeles”, both season openers. I’m not a huge fan of the original, and have yet to watch the spin off. I may try to catch the second hour of “NCIS: Los Angeles”.

The new season of “The Biggest Loser” airs for the first two hours of prime time on NBC. It looks just as grueling as ever. I do love the ad with Jillian Michaels asking, “What happened to the cheering?” I like Jillian. A new episode of “Parenthood” follows at 10/9c to end the evening.

The season premier of “Glee” kicks off a new line up on FOX at 8/7c. The pilots of “Raising Hope” and “Running Wilde” follow. I’m not sure about “Raising Hope” yet, it looks a little like a cross between “My Name Is Earl” and “Nobody’s Baby” (a Skeet Ulrich movie). As for “Running Wilde”, it doesn’t look funny to me.

I’ll likely watch the season opener of “The Biggest Loser”. I just might have to finally watch “NCIS: Los Angeles”... if I don’t flip over to “Detroit 1-8-7”.

That’s what’s on network TV tonight. What are you watching? Any suggestions?
